Welcome back to Currents of Wisdom Weekly Q&A Series—a series dedicated to exploring the transformative insights behind my new book, The Way of the Wave: Nature’s Model for Navigating Life’s Currents. In this series, you can expect practical wisdom on how to embrace life’s natural flow to navigate uncertainty, overcome challenges, and discover true inner peace.
What are the benefits of going with The Wave? How do you go with The Wave?
“Going with The Wave” means trying to align with, and not resist, life’s natural flow and rhythm of our diverse life currents, such as love and romance, parenting, work, creative endeavors, athletic performance, aging, combative people, and adversity. The more we can do that, the more peace and serenity, and less stress and anxiety, we will have– in good times and bad.
One simple, yet very effective, way is saying, “Just Go with the Wave,” when dealing with uncertainty and unsettling situations. You’d be surprised at how quickly it takes the edge off things and provides a better perspective of what you’re dealing with.
However, to Go with the Wave in any sustained way, we need to overcome the mindsets and attitudes that obstruct the natural flow of things, the primary one being control, and foster those that enhance the flow, the primary ones being trust and acceptance. The book offers guidance on how we can do that. In many ways, it is learning how to stay out of our own way.
The Way of the Wave provides practical guidance on how to release the grip of control, stay out of our way and embrace life’s natural flow. By embracing trust and acceptance, you can learn to ride the natural currents of life with greater ease—and ultimately, enjoy a more balanced and fulfilling existence.
I invite you to reflect on your own experience: How have you learned to let go and trust the flow of life? What mindsets do you have to overcome? Please share your thoughts in the comments, and let’s continue this conversation together.
May you go with the Wave!
